Hi, I'm Maddie
I’m a counsellor with a background in software product management, based in the UK. Over time, I’ve learned how to find patterns in behaviours and use that knowledge to advance business goals. Now I use that knowledge to help my clients navigate life’s ups and downs, and I’m here to help you understand your way.
I help people like you gain more confidence in their own feelings, thoughts and behaviours so that they can love what they see in the mirror every morning. I facilitate their progression from a point of chronic self-doubt and confusion to a place of trust that life’s surprises won’t knock them out.
Let’s connect and work together to improve your communication skills, build stronger relationships, and find more balance in your life.
Experience: life
I was a young person who had little guidance on what becoming a woman meant. All I was told was to get good grades and to “behave”. I had to figure out everything else by myself.
So by the time I was 24, I had taken a job I despised for the sake of ticking the family expectation box and had become neck-deep into a toxic relationship. Activities like working out and going shopping served the purpose of brushing my deep-seated feelings under the carpet. I thought I was in fierce competition with everyone and that romantic relationships were based on anything but cooperation between two partners.
It took time, tears and counselling to understand the patterns that were hindering me. I had to challenge not only personal beliefs and behaviours but also people in my closest circle. Some left, others stayed, and new ones appeared in my life. Now, I am happily married, branching out into a career I love and I found the faith that gives me hope.
It was possible for me, and I believe it is possible for you. I am here to join you in walking on the path to balance and maturity, fully knowing how painful those blows can be.
Experience: work
I worked in Project Management for multiple industries, and spearheaded projects of various sizes and budgets. The biggest lesson I learned was the impact of blindspots in work communication.
Moving into Product Management allowed me to dive deep into the customer’s behaviours and mental models. I had the most fun and felt the biggest satisfaction when conducting customer interviews, and mapping the generated insights. I soon realised I find great meaning in helping others make sense of things and facilitate positive changes. That’s how I became a life coach!
I understand how hectic life can be, and how the day-to-day noise can hold your goal-achieving power hostage. I use Adlerian principles to be a catalyst for lasting change in your life.
What are your values? What is your experience? I’d love to hear more about it and discuss how my therapeutic approach can help you gently peel off the layers of confusion.
My values
Commitment
I cherish my clients and their courage to take the leap towards self-development. I honour that through my commitment to collaboratively creating the person’s life story, as well as action strategies.
Practicality
We can talk endlessly about abstract ideas and philosophies, but in my counselling work, I believe that individuals should be equipped with resources they can translate into concrete actions.
Curiosity
Working with me entails respectful curiosity towards purposes of behaviour, meaning-making, as well as ways of relating to others. I think highly of the power of curious inquiry as a window into the client’s world.
